About

Every Child Safe, Happy, and Protected.
Every child deserves to grow up knowing what it feels like to be safe, valued, protected, and given the opportunity to thrive.
The Grain of Sand Project is an international charitable initiative of Empowered Network Foundation (ENF) dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families through protection, education, advocacy, recovery resources, and meaningful community collaboration.
Our name reflects a simple belief: one act of compassion may feel as small as a grain of sand, but when people come together with purpose, those individual acts can become something powerful enough to change lives.
A Mission That Crosses Borders
The Grain of Sand Project was created to expand the reach of charitable work benefiting children and families whose circumstances too often leave them without adequate resources, protection, or opportunity.
An important part of that mission is our collaboration with Fundación Internacional Granito de Arena, an independent charitable organization operating in Mexico. The Mexican foundation works directly within the communities it serves, providing programs and assistance designed around the needs of vulnerable children and families.
Through the Grain of Sand Project, Empowered Network Foundation (ENF) can identify, develop, support, and help fund qualifying charitable initiatives that further ENF's mission, including approved programs conducted in collaboration with Fundación Internacional Granito de Arena. This relationship allows two independent organizations to work toward a shared humanitarian purpose while each maintains its own legal identity, governance, responsibilities, and operations.
Our First U.S. Outreach Office: Brownsville, Texas
The first U.S. outreach office for the Grain of Sand Project will be established in Brownsville, Texas.
Its location is intentional.
Brownsville sits at a unique intersection of communities, cultures, languages, and needs. Its proximity to Mexico provides an opportunity to build relationships on both sides of the border while establishing a strong U.S.-based presence for outreach, education, advocacy, collaboration, and community engagement.
The Brownsville outreach office is envisioned as a place where the mission becomes tangible—a connection point for people who want to help, organizations that want to collaborate, communities seeking resources, and initiatives capable of creating meaningful change.
As the Project develops, the Brownsville office can help foster relationships among nonprofit organizations, community leaders, educators, professionals, volunteers, donors, businesses, and other partners who share our commitment to protecting and empowering children.
One Mission. Two Independent Organizations. Meaningful Collaboration.
The relationship between Empowered Network Foundation and Fundación Internacional Granito de Arena is a charitable collaboration—not a merger of the two organizations.
The Grain of Sand Project is a program of Empowered Network Foundation.
Fundación Internacional Granito de Arena is an independent organization in Mexico and is not a subsidiary or division of Empowered Network Foundation. Through the Grain of Sand Project, ENF may collaborate with the Mexican foundation on qualifying charitable initiatives that align with ENF's exempt purposes.
Empowered Network Foundation maintains responsibility, oversight, and discretion regarding funds contributed to the Grain of Sand Project and determines how those resources are used to advance ENF's charitable purposes.
This structure allows the organizations to combine knowledge, relationships, resources, and experience while maintaining appropriate independence and accountability.
What Collaboration Can Look Like
Our work may include initiatives focused on:
-
Protecting and supporting vulnerable and at-risk children
-
Supporting survivors of trafficking, exploitation, abuse, and trauma
-
Connecting children and families with appropriate resources and services
-
Educational opportunities and resources
-
Mental health, trauma-recovery, and wellness initiatives delivered by appropriately qualified providers
-
Community education and prevention programs
-
Family and caregiver support
-
Collaboration with schools, nonprofit organizations, professionals, and community partners
-
Development of programs that promote safety, stability, dignity, and long-term opportunity
-
Supporting approved charitable projects carried out with our partners in Mexico
-
Building greater awareness of the challenges facing vulnerable children on both sides of the border
Our goal is not simply to respond to a moment of crisis. We want to help create pathways toward safety, stability, recovery, opportunity, and hope.
How Contributions Work
Contributions made to the Grain of Sand Project are contributions to Empowered Network Foundation and support ENF's charitable activities through the Project. Empowered Network Foundation (ENF) maintains legal control and discretion over contributed funds and determines how those resources will be used to further its charitable purposes.
When ENF supports an approved charitable initiative carried out in collaboration with Fundación Internacional Granito de Arena or another charitable partner, ENF provides appropriate oversight and requires accountability for the use of the resources provided.
This allows American supporters to contribute to a U.S.-based charitable program while helping ENF advance meaningful charitable work that may extend beyond our borders.
Why “Grain of Sand”?
A grain of sand is tiny.
By itself, it may seem insignificant.
But millions of grains together create beaches, shorelines, and landscapes.
We believe compassion works the same way.
One person can help one child.
One organization can strengthen one community.
One partnership can connect resources that previously seemed worlds apart.
And thousands of seemingly small acts, brought together by a common purpose, can create extraordinary change.
That is the heart of the Grain of Sand Project.
Every Child Safe, Happy, and Protected.
Through the Grain of Sand Project, Empowered Network Foundation is working to turn those words from an aspiration into action—one child, one family, one community, and one grain of sand at a time.
